Parallel Configuration

Several inductors can be connected in parallel to decrease inductance. This image shows inductors in series:

The formula for the total inductance is

$\frac{1}{L_t}=\frac{1}{L_1}+\frac{1}{L_2}+...+\frac{1}{L_n}$

When you connect two inductors of the same inductance in parallel, the total inductance is halved. Template:BookCat
