Parallel Lines and Transversals

Recall that, in geometry, a line is an infinite number of points on a straight path extends forever in two opposite directions. A set of two lines are parallel lines if and only if are on the same plane and never intersect. The symbol means "is parallel to". For instance, the expression ab means "line a is parallel to line b". On a diagram, parallel lines are marked with an additional arrow on the lines.

Angles Formed by Lines and Transversals

When two parallel lines are cut by transversals, the resulting angles formed have various names and properties. .
