Parallel Configuration

Several inductors can be connected in parallel to decrease inductance. This image shows inductors in series:

The formula for the total inductance is

$\frac{1}{L_{t}} = \frac{1}{L_{1}} + \frac{1}{L_{2}} + . . . + \frac{1}{L_{n}}$

When you connect two inductors of the same inductance in parallel, the total inductance is halved. Template:BookCat
