Square root is the invert function of power. Example: $\sqrt{16}=4,4^2=16,\sqrt{16}=16^{1/2}$ , where $\sqrt{4^2}=4$ So in general: $\sqrt{x}=x^{1/2},\sqrt[n]{x^n}=x$
