Square root is the invert function of power. Example: $\sqrt{16} = 4, 4^{2} = 16, \sqrt{16} = 1 6^{1 / 2}$ , where $\sqrt{4^{2}} = 4$ So in general: $\sqrt{x} = x^{1 / 2}, \sqrt[n]{x^{n}} = x$
