By the end of this module you will be expected to have learnt the following formulae:

Forces and Equilibrium

• Weight $=mass\times g$
• Limiting Friction: $F=\mu R$
• $F=ma$

Kinematics

• $v=u+at$
• $s=ut+\frac{1}{2}a{t}^2$
• $s=\frac{1}{2}(u+v)t$
• $v^2=u^2+2as$
• $s=vt-\frac{1}{2}a{t}^2$
• $v=\frac{ds}{dt}$ , $a=\frac{dv}{dt}$

Linear Momentum

• Momentum of a Particle: $p=mv$

Momentum is conserved. Therefore if there is a collision between 2 objects, the momentum before = momentum afterwards.

Impulse is the change in momentum.
