Multiply the numerators to find the numerator of the result. Multiply the denominators to find the denominators of the result. Then [[../Reducing fractions|reduce]] the result. For example,

221×3522=70462.

We can then reduce

70462=70÷2462÷2=35231=35÷7231÷7=533.

An easier way to multiply the same fractions is first find the prime factors of the numerators and denominators, then reduce, then multiply.

221×3522=237×57211=237×57211=533.
